Pursuant to the reciprocal agreement between the Board and the Virginia Board for Contractors, licensees of the Virginia board are eligible to apply for and obtain a North Carolina electrical contracting license, and North Carolina licensees are eligible to apply to the Virginia Board and obtain a Virginia electrical contracting license in classifications as prescribed in the following table:

*Virginia applicants: Each qualified individual must also pass an examination on laws, rules and business practices applicable to Electrical Contracting in North Carolina (included in your application packet).
North Carolina licensees will need to contact the Virginia Board for Contractors to request an application packet for Virginia license. North Carolina licensees will be subject to the Virginia contractor “designated employee” licensing examination on business and law.
